John Denver became a star with the folk-based songs he composed, the majority of which are set in Colorado. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. was born in Roswell, New Mexico. He fell in love with Colorado and moved to Aspen. Denver's popular songs about his state brought many people to Colorado.
